Our Story
Palo Alto · in the year 2026
Graduate school has a way of convincing you that life can be measured in deadlines, drafts, experiments, conferences, and calendars. It is perhaps the last place one expects to find permanence.
And yet, that is where we found each other.
At first glance, we had very little in common. We arrived from different corners of India, spoke different languages, inherited different customs, and had been taught to ask entirely different kinds of questions about the world.
Curiously, none of those became the defining feature of our relationship.
What grew between us over five and a half years was something quieter and, perhaps, more enduring: a friendship that outgrew circumstance and made room for every version of each other. It survived long-distance flights, dissertation deadlines, career milestones, uncertain futures, and all the ordinary Wednesdays in between. Somewhere along the way, we stopped feeling like we were bringing two worlds together and simply began building one of our own.
Every meaningful archive preserves not only what happened, but also what endured. If our years together have taught us anything, it is that love and companionship is rarely found in extraordinary moments. More often, it is built patiently in ordinary ones, until one day we look back and realize we have created a life worth celebrating. We began as two people shaped by different places, disciplines, and histories. Today, we stand not at the intersection of those contrasts, but in the shared world we quietly and steadily made possible.
Thank you for joining us as we celebrate the family, friendships, and future that world continues to hold.
With love, Sreya & Shrestha
